Hi everyone!
My name is Alexandria Lopez. I am a junior (full-time student) at Indiana University in Bloomington. I am a journalism major with a focus in print (newspaper/magazine) with a second concentration (soon to be minor) in sociology.
I recently got the news that I am one of twelve students who were accepted to be study abroad in Kenya this summer! While in Kenya this summer I will be taking a reporting class on HIV/AIDS.
This will be my first time ever going abroad and probably my last chance to while I'm still in school.
I am a full-time student who is very involved on campus. I also serve tables when I'm not at school, which covers bills and some other expenses but will not allow for me to save up enough to pay for my portion of the trip.
I believe that this opportunity to go abroad will not only help with my reporting skills and journalistic integrity, but will also expand my knowledge about the world and hopefully have a positive impact on my life and others.
What I need is your help! Your contribution will help me achieve my dream of studying abroad and will help me open doors to a brighter future. All donations made will cover transportation, vaccinations, passport and student visa and summer school fees. I would really appreciate your help, no contribution is too small!
