Mindful Women Rising in Mongolia

Empower Shakti International (ESI), a non-profit working with women's organizations to drive positive social change for women's rights and empowerment, is delivering their Mindfulness-Based Education Program to The Network for the Prevention of Violence Against Women (NPVAW) in Dornod, Mongolia. It's the only women's organization serving a population of 80,000 people. Faced with domestic abuse, sex-trafficking and discrimination, NPVAW and ESI are partnering up to change the quality and condition of women's lives within the remote city of Dornod.
Rob Frost of Rob Frost Media, an Emmy award nominated cinematographer, is partnering up with them to share ESI & NPVAW's work with the world through a short documentary film! Waiving two-thirds of his fees, Rob was so deeply moved and inspired by the struggle, perseverance, strength, courage and tenacity of the women of Mongolia, that he is setting out in April with Director & Founder of ESI, Amanda Fiorino, to capture their story and bring it to light!
Phase 1
The first half of our journey begins with helping ESI send Rob over to Mongolia. Travel expenses to such a remote region of the world can be costly, and your support means getting him to Dornod to begin the process of capturing the story of the women's lives in Dornod.
Phase 2
The second half of our journey begins upon Amanda and Rob's return home as post-production starts. This documentary will not only help share the story of the women of NPVAW, it will also help shine a light on the amazing work ESI is doing with other women's organizations around the world. Such a film would greatly help to promote and further the empowerment and global representation of women working for their own rights within their communities. Telling stories of the issues women face in
different areas of the world is crucial to changing the state of women's rights. This film will also act as a driving force for future funding, and help ESI to provide innovative tools that would otherwise not be accessible to the women of NPVAW and others across the globe.
