Hello, and thank you for checking out my page!

TLDR: I'm going back to Haiti to work with orphans at the One Family in Christ Jesus Orphanage in Croix -des -Boquetes, Haiti. I'd like to invite you to join me in this adventure. I'm trying to raise $1500 to do so. My full story is below,
Thank You!

My Story:
Ever since I came home from Haiti last year, I've been itching to go back. I don't think I can really put into words what Haiti has come to mean to me, but since I'm asking you to be a part of this mission, it's only fair that I try.
When I came home last February, everyone asked me what it was like, and the best thing I could come up with was "Beautifully Tragic." That isn't by any means enough to explain to someone what you feel going there, but it seemed like a good place to start.
The country of Haiti is beautiful. Ayiti, "land of high mountains" in Haitian Creole) is breathtakingly beautiful to see, with high mountains, wide planes, acres of sugar cane (yum!) and don't forget the mangos! But there was also tragedy there. In 2010 a massive earthquake struck Haiti killing hundreds of thousands of people and devastating the country. Everywhere you looked, you saw evidence of this, from collapsed building to tent cities, even 3 years later.
The people of Haiti are beautiful. They were so incredibly warm and welcoming, joking with us, sharing with us and working along side us. But there was also tragedy there. You heard it in so many peoples' stories, and saw it more often than you could count.
Pastor Kesnel is beautiful. His story is a testament to what God can do with the tiniest foothold on a heart. To see what he has been able to accomplish is a relatively short time is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Pastor Kesnel is fighting the tragedy around him with love and joy.
The children at One Family are beautiful. They were so happy that we were there for them and loved to goof around with us. Even after long hard days of work, giving piggy-back rides didn't seem that hard. But there was also tragedy there. There are kids there who lost their families in the earthquake, who came desperately sick. There are heart-wrenching stories of parents who had to leave their child there because they simply couldn't feed them. On this trip I learned the term "Starvation Orphan" and it broke my heart.

Haiti ripped my heart apart, but replaced it with hope and joy. It gave me a glimpse of what Jesus would actually do. This was service directly to those who need it most, and I loved it. And that brings us back to why I'm telling you all this. I need people to pray for me, for this trip, and for the people I am going to meet and serve. I also need donations to help pay for the cost of the trip. My goal is to raise $1500.00, and I'm confident that with your help I will reach it.
Thank you again, and God Bless!
