Special Hands School of Art

I have decided to open a Art /Music School for children of all ages with disabilities in my community for the main reason there is nothing this group of indiviuals can call their own. We have professional teaching artists and music in the field of painting, drawing, pottery and clay. Andrea and myself are two mom's who have a passion to provide our own children Dylan, 20 who has austism, seizure disorder and idic 15 (Chorosome disorder), and Matthew, 8 who has asperger's. The mission statement for the school is , To educate children and young adults with special needs independent skills of expression and persoanl explortation through adaptive Art and Music instruction., With the purpose being to give all kids with dissabilities the oppurtunity to explore and to express themselves through non verbal communication with alternative teaching methods and materials. Neither one of us has had previous business experience before it was something we felt we needed to do for our community. This school will be open 6 days a week 9-7 and on sunday's will be by special activities of family in mind, whether it is a music recital or a art showing or just open studio time for families to have fun.
