Baby Leonidas AKA "Leo" was born on May 11, 2015. Right away you could tell he was going to be a special guy. He was diagnosed with Achondroplaisa, more commonly known as dwarfism, almost immediately. Instead of being discouraged by the news of his condition, his amazing mother embraced him for who he is and began researching it right away so she could be prepared for their future.
In his short life so far, he has touched the hearts of friends, family, and even strangers. He is such a sweet baby and has a wonderful future ahead. However, his condition means he will need extra care and attention. This has meant hospital visits and round the clock supervision which have put his mom in a financial crisis.
Pamela, AKA Leo's mom, is also raising her two teenage nephews due to the untimely death of her dear brother. Her mother and stepfather also live with her as they are unable to live independently because of their special needs.
With the recent financial crisis, this family is facing the threat of losing their car which is desperately needed to get Leo to and from appointments and hospital visits. Their utilities are going to be shut off, and that would be devastating in the middle of an Arizona summer. Lastly, they are months behind on their rent and facing eviction which could leave them homeless.
Pamela and her family are dear friends, they did not ask that we do anything to help them, but they are the type of family that deserves a miracle to save them.
