To Honor J. & L. Clopton - for Chelsea

On Tuesday, 4 February, 2014, the parents of 21-year old Chelsea Toner and 16-year old Brandi Clopton were killed by a drunk driver in Austin, Texas. James and Lynne Clopton were known for their huge hearts and warm smiles and their willingness to help. They were also known for the joy they found in participating in the activities of their daughters. This site has been set up to honor James and Lynne through their daughter Chelsea.

The hope is to provide the means to support Chelsea in pursuing her passion. This pursuit was greatly supported by her parents. Chelsea's passion is color guard.

Chelsea has been a member of ATX Winterguard for the past 6 years and is currently marching as this year's guard captain. Chelsea has also been a member of the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps for the past 3 years. 2014 will be her last season with the Crossmen as she is aging out which will make this summer particularly emotional. Chelsea's parents have spent time volunteering with both of these organizations and their absence will be felt by Chelsea as well as by all of those whose lives they touched.

The emotional depth and heart of the color guard and drum corps activities is profound. As Chelsea's friends gather to support her, it is their presence and laughter and tears that will comfort her. It is through time spent rehearsing and performing with them that she can begin to take the steps to heal from this great personal loss. And it is through marching that Chelsea can stay connected to her parents who so supported her in this activity.
