This is Steph's story
'Hi, my name is Steph. I am 18 years old and I am looking for donations to help finance my brothers funeral.
Previously, I had been living with my grandmother, who adopted me and my older brother David. David was born with Cerebal Palsy and for 17 years lived with me and my nan until she sadly passed away in March 2015 from bowel cancer. Our lives were torn apart; I didn't know what to do.
On the same day, I was removed from the home by my uncle and my brother was confined to a care home. I had to then move in with my boyfriend's family to avoid being homeless. Sadly, I was unable to see David as much as I would have liked too. I had only recently got back in touch with David after he moved into his own home with a friend, assisted with full time carers.
On 13th March 2016, David sadly passed away from pneumonia, which was very unexpected. He was the only person I called family. I was not even informed that David was hospitalised, therefore I had no oppourtunity to see him or say goodbye. David was such a happy person, always smiling and was always friendly towards anyone. Anyone who knew David would agree with that he was a kind, warmhearted person. My life wont be the same without him.
I would love to be able to give David the farewell he deserves, but due to being a full time student, I would struggle to afford a nice brother floral display. Obviously I have been rather distraught over the loss of my brother, but it futher saddens me that I may not be able to give him a pleasant send-off that he would have appreciated.
I would be really grateful for any donations to help with the costs of David's Farewell, as he deserves so much more then I can offer.
