Centro Educativo Chorotega

 

Kayla & Amaya will be attending classes and furthering their immersion in Spanish and in to the culture of Costa Rica. I will be helping out as a teacher, working with 5 to 7 year olds as well as helping with administrative and fundraising projects for the school. 

 

The school is home to a variety of children from different countries ranging from ages 3 to 11. The philosophy behind the school is to encourage each child in finding their unique passions and strengths while teaching them basic studies of language (Spanish and English), mathematics, science and agriculture.

 

For two hours each day, the children will also participate in karate, yoga, swimming, surfing, dance, music, painting and theatre. 

 

Working with this school will give us as a family another opportunity to learn and grow while living in the beautiful country of Costa Rica as well as a way for us to give back to this creative and loving community that we are so happy to be a part of. 

 

The school is currently funded by the parents of the children who attend. There are some children attending who's parents are unable to pay the full amount which is required to keep the school up and running.

 

Our hope is that the school will be able to continue to open our arms to all of the children who would like to attend school, regardless of their parents financial ability. 

 

We are looking for online donations to help sponsor these children and their education. 

 

What your donation can help us acheive: 

 

A $10 donation can help pay for a well balanced and nutritious school lunch for a child for a week. 

 

A $15 donation can help pay for a month's worth of school supplies for the teachers and children.

 

A $25 donation can help pay a teacher's salary for a week. 

 

A $35 donation can help pay for books for the school children.
