Imagine the feeling of pedaling down a leaf canopied bike trail right after the sun has come up and everything is still wet with dew. The combined exhilaration of your deep breathing and the effect of being in nature makes you feel like a million bucks. Wouldn't you like to have that experience available even on rainy days and in the middle of winter?

Successful completion of this campaign will make this a reality!

I'm Jim Garlits, and in 2008, during a transitional year of my life (I'd quit a factory job I'd had for 12 years, worked in Texas for awhile as a recruiting officer, and suddenly found myself back in Indiana after a family emergency demanded my immediate return. The completion of the Nickel Plate Trail from Kokomo to Peru Indiana gave me strength and clarity of mind to face the challenges I faced, and I'll tell you I rode that trail nearly every day, and I've been hooked on bike trails ever since. It kept me sane during an insane time.

The idea to ride and record every major bike trail in America came to me while I was cooped up and unable to ride much this past winter. I searched YouTube and other channels for something I could pedal to on my indoor trainer bike. All I could find were a few grainy, low quality segments...some on trails, mostly on roads. The few DVDs I have used were okay, but we can do better, and we can do it online so you aren't stuck with a pile of scratched up DVDs. They say the market hates a void. I know I've found one and I have the skills to fill it.

Having a comprehensive video library of every major bike trail in the U.S. will also be something of a natural treasure. It will show you what is available in every state, and will make you appreciate it more when you finally decide to go out and experience them live. It will also allow you to relive your experiences over and over again.

Your generosity will enable me to get started, and you will be the first ones to have access to the live website: http://gramtrails.com and full access to all of the scenic trail rides. I've created two levels: a lifetime membership, and a one year membership. You will also have a chance to be included in the documentary I'll be creating as I undertake this project, but that will be a bonus and not something I'd ever charge for.

Lets make this bike trails video library a reality. Thanks from my bottom bracket!
