Re-Uniting Family

Well, I'll just put it out there.... I am a recent widow after struggling with my husband's long and complicated illness. I am a 64 year old great-grandmother with still a lot of living to do.

I have lost all of my husband's income and now get only my meager social security. (I can not discuss exact details). I am a retired Registered Nurse and Case Manager. I care about people and their well-being and since I fall into that category (person-hood) I have to take care of myself as well and replenish my energies.


So what am I going to do with the rest of my life that doesn't require 4 years of retraining, total exhaustion and back breaking work? What is something that I would love to do and give back to my community AND earn some money (food and shelter)?????


After a lot of prayer, introspection and research I decided that I can give lots of hugs! It will make me and the recipient very happy - I hope, but being a modest woman, I can only hug other women but not make any substantial living. So I'll still give free hugs but I need to do something else in addition.


When I was doing bedside nursing I used to give my patients back rubs and therapeutic massages. Nursing schools used to teach this! I still give great back rubs and massages. But I want to take this to a different level. There is an opportunity coming up in May to enroll in an intensive 2-week accredited massage and reflexology course located not far from my home The hitch is cost and no payment plan is available. Total cost including lodging is approximately $4,000. I need a lot of help with this.


I have entered a new stage in my life that needs to be redefined. I can still help people heal physical and emotional wounds so that they may redefine their lives with renewed hope and meaning. Thank you for helping me help them.
