I have arrived in Italy! It took me three flights to get here, but I am now sitting comfortably in my hotel bed in Roma. Day one of my trip started late in the afternoon, getting in from the airport around 5. I met up with my roommates, Kasey and Victoria, and our friend Alan, and went out to explore Italy. We ended up walking just a few blocks away and going to another country: Vatican City!
We walked around the square and took some pictures, just taking in all the sights around us, until we finally got hungry and stopped for some food. Had some good lunch, went back to the room and chilled out for a bit.
Then, we got ready for our first big Italian dinner with the rest of the group. Dinner started at 7:30 and lasted until around 10:30. It was so much fun! 4 courses, wine, friends, good fun, what more could anyone ask for?
After that, we took a quick break to grab some cameras and jackets, and spent the night walking around Rome. We went to the Pantheon, the Treve Fountain, made some wishes, saw some amazing, smaller fountains, and some got Gelato. It was an absolute blast. This place is gorgeous =)
Today, we woke up and met around 9:50 to go explore inside the Vatican. I learned so much about Catholicism, saw some beautiful works of art, took tons of pictures, and walked my feet right off. Now, I'm just about to take a nap after my lunch of thin crust, Italian pizza. I'll have more to talk about later after I see the Spanish Steps! Ciao!
Hey everyone! I know it's been awhile but I'm leaving for the trip in just over a week! I'll be blogging as much as I can, and be sending out postcards all trip long. Thank you to everyone who has supported me in my endeavor, and to those who send me wishes and love. I'll be leaving this campaign open until May 10th, right before I board the plane for Italy. Thank you once again!
New update! I will be blogging throughout the entire trip, posting pictures, letting you know what's been going on, and what I'm studying! ALSO THE AMOUNTS ON THE PAGE ARE JUST SUGGESTIONS! YOU ARE IN NO WAY OBLIGATED TO GIVE THAT MUCH!
Ok everyone, here's an update! I am currently at $225. Not even 10% of my goal. Now I know we can do better than that. All it takes is $1 for you to help out, so please donate and ask your friends to help a sista out!
Hey everyone! Would you like to help make someone's dream come true? Do you want to help broaden someone's horizons? If so, then you've come to the right place! Hello, my name is Lindsay Fabes and I am a drama major at the University of Oklahoma. I have an amazing opportunity to study the History of the American Musical Theatre, one of my favorite subjects, in Italy during May of this year. There's only one problem. I can't afford it. It's always been my dream to study theatre in Europe and this is the chance that I have, so why not take it?! The only way to make this possible is with YOUR help. I need to raise $2500 by mid-March in order to participate in this program. I would be forever grateful to anyone and everyone who could help me out with this. Please tell all your friends, family, acquaintances, enemies, everyone! Spread it all around social media! Spread the word!!
