Momma's eye surgery

Momma was rescued from New Port Richey, Florida. The shelter who had taken her in was being shut down from the City and they had to place all the dogs or they were to be Euthanized. This is how I heard about Momma and decided to drive south to meet the girl.

Once meeting her we heard the story of her previous owner who didn't have the money to care for her. She had been hit by a car twice with no medical treatment and has permanent spine damage. The family lost their home and they left the dog locked in the house and left. Momma almost starved to death.
Someone finally tipped off Animal services, they tracked down the original owner and instead of facing charges released the dog.

I adopted Momma and took her to the vet, her hair is growing back in the areas where malnutrition affected her coat. She is on anti-inflammatory meds for her spinal injuries, we got her on Advantix for her flea allergies... but what we heard next , we just couldn't prepare for.

Momma has been diagnosed with a case of bilateral Entropion. This is where her eye lids roll over on themselves. It exposes hair to the eye ball which irritates, her tear ducts are not producing tears and her eyes are drying out. The only option is surgery to correct the issue.
