The year was 1968 A group of young men started a band enter talent shows and play the chitlin circuit doing show for various other groups.1969 We went to Detroit,Michigan there we met a gentleman name Ernest Burke. Mr.Burke had a recording studio called Magic City Recording.while there we recorded several tune's,"Go For Yourself'
"HotPants Breakdown'
"Crazy Legs'
"Bobby's Mood"
"Funky Thang"
"Boot's Groove".
Being young and not really knowing the business my Mother was acting manager of our group.when the records was publish we never received a money of any kind from these recording. no Royalities at all.we couldn't go to no other studio for Mr.BURKE had us on contract for 4 years and after with an option to pick up 4 more years if he so desired, which he did.the purpose of the letter is that in the year of 2003,two gentleman came from England to the United States looking for my group i was living in Akron,Ohio at the time anyway they came and told me and my Mom that our group was very popular in England and that another group was there calling themselves The Soul Toronadoes.they came to the United States to find the real The Soul Toronadoes.they talk a very long time with us explaining that they were traveling around city to city looking for groups with different funk sound and they wanted our permission to re-record our tune's .they also said that our records very popular there too. mind you Mr.Burke has passed away since then his son has taken over whatever Mr.BURKE left our tunes included. he's been collecting royalities from our records and again we havent received a cent. My mother and father has passed on since all this and here it is 2014 another person name Robert El-Prezidente contact me oh Facebook stating he needed to contact me. i text him my number and he called me saying that there was people talking about considering our group for 'Hall of Fame Rhythm and Blues", he also said that he just got back from Japan and our group was very popular there as well. here it is 50 years later and we are still being heard and played yet i have or know any resource that help me get what we deserve. my quest is this i am 63 now and i would love to take our group to England and japan and give them a show yes i can still play my organ as if i never stop and i still have in me what "God' gave me and thats the ability to play that organ my only regret in all this is my parents aren't here to see this my mother said to me the one thing she wanted to see was to hear us play one more time before she died we gave my Mother that promise and she hear us play one more time.now i want to take our group to England and japan to see for our selves what all the hype is about and get our just reward of which we've been waiting fifty years for we need your help God Bless each and everyone who donate money so that we can go show our stuff my name is Bobby Heller and i'am the original player of the The Soul Toronadoes. thank you for reading this and thank you for your Help
