Leg Surgery for Bronco Billy

I\'m a good samaritan dog rescuer who took in this little puppy in January of 2011. The pup had been a Christmas gift that wasn\'t wanted and had passed through several hands before I took him in. I intended to get his shots, neuter, and training before finding him a wonderful forever home. A month ago, I noticed that his back leg was bowing out and he was diagnosed with Pes Varus. This is a genetic disorder that can only be treated with surgery and his case is severe.
I found a local specialist who is willing to do this $4000 surgery for only $790. He owns an organization that helps many, many animals with veterinary care and works closely with local rescues and shelters. Because I care for my rescues out of my own pocket, I need help getting Billy the surgery he needs for a long and happy life.
Billy\'s surgery is scheduled for August 8th, 2011 and I would appreciate any donations you can give towards his surgery. Any amount that goes over the amount needed will be donated in your name to Animal Trustees of Austin to help other animals in need, or it will be refunded to you at your request.
Half the funds have been paid with my credit card, so all funds collected will either be used to pay off this balance or paid directly to the vet for the amount due at the time of surgery. I thank you so much for your help in making sure that this little dog is in great health when his perfect adopter is found.

Billy\'s Surgery has been rescheduled for Monday, August 15th, 2011. It seems there were several dogs hit by cars over the weekend and Animal Trustees of Austin really needed the slot to help those requiring urgent care. My thoughts go out to those dogs and their owners. But, this gives us a little more time to fundraise to reach the goal for his surgery cost. We will continue to fundraise afterwards, as he goes through his lengthy post-surgical recuperation and rehabilitation.
