Help Chad & Andi w/medical emergency

Chad's unemployment was denied based on  fact that he's caring for an ill spouse and unable to look for gainful employment during all of this.  They also requested he pay back the amount he's already recieved. Chad's appealing it, but for now it means no money coming in.

I've been asked to re-open the fundraising for Chad and Andi by a dearly loved *kisses* mutal friend.  So at that request, I bring you the most recent update and a request for more help if you are able to.

Chad is also requesting visitors to Andi - she really lights up when people come to see her and Chad has been sick himself and unable to visit the past few days.

Most recent update from Chad :
They surgeons say she still isn't a candidate for surgery yet due to being so weak and sick, so are continuing the antibiotics for a few more weeks since the vegetation has gotten smaller so far from the treatment. They hope the perforation will calcify and maybe surgery won't be needed. They are discussing when they want to evaluate her again, if it's in a month or two they will leave the trach in, but replace it with a smaller one. If they feel she needs longer, they will take out the trach all together.

Removed part about how she's eating as they've placed another feeding tube in the last few days.

We found out she can read and comprehend...which is AWESOME.
She has music therapy every day, which she loves.
He MS Neurologist came to visit her today after work which was AWESOME, and brought her ugly tacky socks which was DOUBLE awesome. She really cares about Andi, makes sure she's looked after.  You wouldn't believe how, much Andi lights UP when she gets visitors.

PLEASE NOTE :  Even though we have reached the second goal of $1200  - Chad and Andi can use all the help they can get.  If you are so inclined you are welcome to continue to donate PAST the goal and they will still receive it.  Thank you so much !!

For those who don't know, Andi has been in the hospital since mid December. She is now in ICU, on a ventilator, and receiving red blood cells.

Chad is having a hard time with reliable transportation and getting to and from the hospital to see Andi. As a long time friend I thought it would really be nice if the LEAST of Chad's worries right now was about money and transportation. If he could just focus on Andi and helping her get well it would relieve a huge burden for them both.

Please help, the money raised will go directly to Chad to get the car fixed or for anything they need during this hard time.

UPDATE: Sat January 11th
I talked with Chad briefly and he's amazed and grateful for all of the support. He's exhausted and I reminded him to take care of himself so he can be there for Andi. (hope he listens)

Sadly there wasn't any improvement in Andi's condition. Her platelet count is 13, it should be a minimum of 50 which is causing issues with bleeding and procedures that could help determine what's wrong. She had a fever last night and was put back on antibiotics for infection. She's also on pain medication and lightly sedated. They are still supporting her breathing but the doctor did say her heart is doing it's job.

We've surpassed our original goal of $750, but I think they are going to need more help with Chad being out of work, travel, hospital bills, etc. so I've raised the goal some. Thank you everyone that has helped and will help. Continue to share this page on your own. You never know when someone will see it that can help ease the financial worry in any small way.

For those that asked who I am, some may remember me as Rainbow@TMN ;) I've known Chad and Andi for about 18 years and they are two of my favorite people. I know if anyone can get through this - it's these two. They love each other like crazy and Andi has always been a fighter. She's dealt with her MS with him by her side. This is another bump in the road that they will over come together with all of our support. ♥

UPDATE Tues January 15th

Andi's platelets improved enough to do some testing to determine that there is build up /infection on her heart valve. She's being treated with antibiotics for this as she isn't strong enough for the surgery she will need to repair it. The unfortunate thing is that it appears Andi had a stroke as a result and is currently unable to use her right side (the doctors aren't sure if this is temporary or permanent).

On the upside, Andi's mom came in and has been helping out. She is responsive on her left side to commands to move / squeeze. As well, Andi's MS doctors who have been treating her for over 15 years are now being consulted on the case and have been in to see her. Hopefully, they will be able to give her more comprehensive care now that they are involved.

A check for the first $500 in donations has been sent to Chad today. The rest will follow as it clears the system. We are leaving this fund open for those who still wish to help. Even skipping a Starbucks and sending them the $5 would make a huge difference right now.

FINALLY, a HUGE thank you from myself and Chad for those that already have helped with this. It means much more than you can imagine to have some of that financial worry lifted during this hard time. Keep the prayers, healing thoughts and love headed their way!!

She is beautiful to all of us.

Update: Jan 24th 2013

If you've been following Chad's page you'll know there have been a few ups and downs since I last updated. Andi was back on the vent, but is now seemingly improving enough to head to a rehabilitation facility. The doctors are hoping to do open heart surgery sooner rather than later. Please keep Chad & Andi in your thoughts and prayers. She has a long road to recovery ahead of her.
