Help our dog Jake fight Cancer!

This is our Jake. He is 7 1/2 years old.
We noticed a small mass about 3 months ago growing on his right upper leg near his underside. Since then, it has gotten progressively larger and is inhibiting his walking as the mass is causing severe pain. After 3 vet visits, x-rays and a needle sample we have concluded he has a soft tissue tumor, 99% chance of being cancerous. Due to the location of the tumor, and the joint tissue connections, they are unable to simply "remove" the tumor. The only remedy is a full limb amputation. The cost of an amputation is not something we ever planned on needing for our dog. The estimate is $3000 for the complete surgery, anesthesia, IV, overnight stay, antibiotics and doctor fees. Once the tumor is removed they will send it for a biopsy to conclude the specific type of cancer. All chest x-rays and abdomen ultrasounds came back clear so far, so the cancer has not spread to any main organs yet.
Our hope is that after the amputation our dog will be free and clear from pain and cancer, and live many more years with us!
