When I first started this page it was to raise money to get my kids and I a place to live because we lost ours and everything we owned in a fire last June before I found out I was pregnant with Jonathan. Then a few days later I found out I was pregnant and was due in January 2014 but Jonathan had a different plan all together and so did god.
Jonathan Casey was born 16 weeks early on October 9, 2013. He weighed 14 ounces and was 10.7 inches long. Over the past several months we were all optimistic that Jonathan would get thru this grow and get better and some day go home. Now his lung disease has gotten so bad it has caused his heart to get weaker and weaker and his lungs to get worse and his right lung has collapsed several times. Now the doctors are not at all optimistic that he will ever come off the ventilator. The thing that is supposed to be making my baby better is what is killing my baby. I am now being faced with having to make the decision to take him off the ventilator because that is the only thing that is keeping him a live. His heart has already stopped once so they did chest compressions to bring him back. Doing the chest compressions will only bring him back short term it will do nothing for him long term. So with that information I and the doctors have decided that chest compressions are not going to do anything but harm him more so I dont want them done. Jonathan passed away on February 16, 2014. That day when I went to the hospital to see him and talk to the doctors they told me they were having to give him more and more sedation medicine because him waking up was causing him to have to be bagged more and more. I got him out with the help of two of his nurses. The dr asked me if i wanted anyone to see him since he was getting so bad. I told her to get my besr friend Millie. Millie and I were talking to him telling him we loved him and everything was going to be okay. He was in my arms and his heart stopped. My baby died in the one place he loved being more than any other place IN MY ARMS! That was the happiest place in the whole world to him.
