Community Composting Program

The time has come for the farm to get serious about making compost. So much food waste ends up in the trash, when it could with a little work become soil.

Farmer Jen has made a low tech plan to collect food scraps from CSA members this summer. We are going to start small in order to perfect our collection and composting technique. The long term goal is to scale up collection and composting of food waste to the community.

The money raised will go to purchase food grade buckets, lids, and compostable liners. We also need some U-posts and chicken wire to contain the compost piles.

Help us get started getting food waste out of the landfill, and making it into soil!
