The process of mourning is as different as the person experiencing the loss. For 8 year old Alex, the loss of her beloved Nana offered an opportunity to celebrate life in a manner that honored, cherished, and treasured her memory while putting into practice the lessons she left deeply ingrained within Alex's heart.
Since March 22, 2014 Alex has been on an amazing mission to touch the lives of as many people possible by presenting each with their own unique act of kindness in remembrance of her Nana. The mission began with an earnest goal of completing 60 acts of kindness on her Nana's 60th birthday, and evolved into the completion of 600 acts of kindness by March 22nd the following year. In that years time Alex managed to volunteer regularly at the Rescue Mission in Tacoma, handed out special treats during the holidays, and helped to create a new youth center at her local YMCA.
Overjoyed by the impact and response she has received; Alex has decided to continue on what she considers to be "God's purpose for her life" by setting a new goal of 6,000 acts of kindness by March 22, 2016. It is Alex's hope and desire to reach as many people as possible throughout the year by creating and delivering these acts of loving kindness with the full intention to bring a smile to others. This is no small feat, which is why Alex has decided to reach out to the community to humbly ask for their support in her mission. It would mean the absolute world to Alex if you could find it in your heart to give even a dollar towards her purpose thus helping her to spread the message of love to others.
Alex aspires to one day begin her own nonprofit that is focused on her idea of acts of loving kindness, and often refers to what she calls the "free store" where people are able to have their needs met without it costing them a dime. There is nothing that brings Alex more delight then to witness first hand the emotional response that comes from seeing how her love has impacted someone else.
