Gee's Christmas Miracle

Please help us help
Gee! Poor Gee was hit by a car and needs your help! He was dropped off at ACCT
Philadelphia after being found hobbling the streets.Medical staff at ACCT noted
that he had been hit by a car and that he was limping on 2 legs, had ulcerated
skin wounds, enflamed ear canals and hair loss from an unknown condition.
Despite all this, he is a calm and gentle dog who loves attention. Because of
his medical issues Gee was very urgent at ACCT and only had 48 hours - ACCT
does not have the resources to treat cases like his. He was put up for adoption
but was unable to be fostered because ACCT could not medically support him. So
whoever saved him would have to absorb all out of pocket expenses for this poor
boys medical care. Lucky for Gee, he had an angel following his story. She
recently adopted a dog from ACCT (within the past year) and she already had
another dog so that means Gee makes three. Despite all this, she couldn't just
sit back and watch so she left work early the following day and went to give
Gee a second chance at life. Her motto for the situation? "Your home is
not full, unless your heart is". We love her for saving Gee and are hoping
to help cover the majority of his medical bills so that she can focus on
getting him better and not have to worry about any financial issues. Here's
what has been done so far - he was sedated so the vet could shave around his
wounds and clean them out. His ears were cleaned. They used level 3 laser
therapy for his lacerations, they ran blood tests for just about every possible
issue (he's heartworm negative, which is great). He received his heartworm
medication, was neutered and was sent home with Rimadyl (pain medication) and a
steroid powder to apply to his wounds. He will need follow up care. His current
medical costs so far are $600.00 and we are looking to raise a total of $900.00
to help cover his current costs and future medical care. Please note we will
keep everyone who donates 100% informed on costs and any money raised that is
above and beyond Gee's medical costs after all is said and done will be donated
to Philadoptables - Philadoptables is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit
corporation that provides support for adoption, welfare, and outreach programs
that benefit the 30,000+ animals received each year by the Philadelphia Animal
Control Shelter, the Delaware Valley Region's largest open-door municipal
animal shelter. It's the season of giving - please consider helping out Gee!
Although his Christmas miracle has already arrived, his story is far from over.
Thank you all in advance!
