Rodney’s Cancer Fund

I have set up this fund to help support our family after my husband's death after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Rodney was 48 years young, and the father of four. We were happily married for 24+ years. In the Fall 2013, Rodney started having some stomach pain, and soon was unable to keep food down. On Dec 6th he had an endoscopy, and it was discovered his stomach was totally obstructed. He had emergency surgery the following morning to remove 1/3 of his stomach and part of his small intestine. Due to complications, Rodney was hospitalized over 40 separate times, including 5 ambulance trips, 2 stays in the ICU, and 7 weeks of inpatient hospice care. Rodney was diagnosed with rare adenocarcinoma arising from heterotopic pancreas, Stage III (pancreatic cancer). He was also later found to have a large pulmonary embolism. He had 10 separate procedures to insert abdominal drains, and an ileostomy due to a mass in his colon. He endured several rounds of chemo, suffered numerous complications and setbacks, yet still kept fighting valiantly until the end on December 10, 2015. 

This page has been created to raise funds for the continued support of our family. Even with insurance, medical costs were a financially draining event. To date, over $35,000 in bills have been paid, with a few still continuing to filter in.
