The Waldo Canyon forest fire started about four miles northwest of Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 23, 2012; and was contained on July 10, 2012.
The fire, covering 18,247 acres, caused the evacuation of over 32,000 residents of Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Woodland Park, several small communities along Highway 24, and partial evacuation of the United States Air Force Academy.
346 homes were destroyed by the fire.
U.S. Highway 24 was closed in both directions.
The Waldo Canyon Fire resulted in insurance claims totaling more than $453.7 million.
It was the most destructive fire in Colorado state history, until the Black Forest fire surpassed it almost a year later, consuming 511 homes and damaging 28 others.
Almost 11 months after the Waldo Canyon fire, many homeowners had not completed a list of the items they lost in the fire, as required under most homeowners' policies to be reimbursed for losses, and were pushing a one-year insurance claim deadline to put together their lists. The Colorado Homeowners Insurance Reform Act of 2013 was passed this spring, which left this deadline intact.

Last August, began a series of major floods along the Waldo Canyon burn scar, causing even more damage to already ravaged areas, and more loss for those who live in this beautiful, yet besieged place.
This campaign is to establish SuiteTech, a company whose goal is to address the need in the marketplace for a professional Home Inventory Service.

Every day, homeowner's face the threat of loss in two ways.
First, the loss of property from fire, burglary or storm.
Secondly, financial loss through inadequate insurance claim settlements due to poor planning and a lack of supporting personal property documentation as required by insurance companies.
The need for personal property documentation extends far beyond insurance claims. Financial and Estate Planners recommend home inventory services for their clients, attorneys seek out impartial third-party services for probate and for property dispute cases. In addition, those who are relocating their homes and businesses utilize home inventory services for trouble-free moves and quick claim settlements for loss or damage.
