Operation Independence: Fund Wally
Donation protected
Hello! My Name is Ryan Nell. I am raising $8,000 to receive a service dog and I believe I have secured a grant to cover some of the costs, but training, certification, placement, food, and care are expensive. I am a Graduate student at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse studying Student Affairs Administration. As part of my Graduate experience, I also work in the Student Life Office on Campus. Wally would be tasked with increasing my independence through helping me with tasks such as dressing/undressing, operating doors and light switches, and picking up things I've dropped just to name a few. Wally would be with me at work as well as accompany me during my leisure and down time; wherever I go, so does Wally!
Having this service dog would allow me a level of independence and autonomy that an unfortunately small number of people with severe physical disabilities have the joy of experiencing. One of my primary missions in life is to dispel the tremendous stigma associated with disabilities and those living with them. People with disabilities can and do live extremely productive, meaningful, and busy lives, sometimes we just need a few extra tools. Help me bring Wally home so that I can complete my tool box and continue giving back.
