Help Bears For Diabuddies Go Nonprofit

Eleanor is a 7 year-old with Type 1 Diabetes. Her friends raised money to buy Jerry The Bear for her. Now she is launching a non-profit to buy more Jerry The Bears for other kids who are newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
"I want to help kids with type 1 diabetes get a Jerry The Bear. They are kind of expensive so some people might have to get a little help. That's where Bears for Diabuddies comes in. "
We need $1000 to help pay the filing fees to become established as a non-profit organization so that people can make tax deductible donations, that will mean we can buy even more bears!! Yay!
"Kids out there with Type 1 diabetes, they just feel alone. It doesn't feel right or safe. Before you leave the hospital, you have to learn how to test your blood glucose, count carbs and do an insulin shot. You also have to learn how much insulin to give yourself. Bears For Diabuddies will raise money to buy bears with Type 1 Diabetes for kids with Type 1. You can take care of him, and learn how to take care of yourself, and also have lots of fun. Jerry has a light on his stomach. When it's red, that means his blood sugar is low, so you give him juice. You scan the juice card over his mouth and it makes a slurping noise. If the light is yellow, that means his blood sugar is high, so you give him a shot of insulin with a toy syringe. There are also a lot of other cool things that Jerry can do that will help you learn how to take care of your diabetes."
