Laura Kay Schaefer Medical Fund
Laura Kay Schaefer has been fighting cancer since 2004. She beat cervical cancer at that time, but not before it took her ability to ever have children again. In 2012 she again fought cancer and won, this time vulvar cancer, which is common for women that have fought cervical cancer.
Today (12/5/2013) we learned that my darling Laura is likely once again fighting vulvar cancer. Unfortunately at this time she has no insurance as she has not been able to afford the cost. Now she must have insurance to even go through the process of analysis, let alone treatment, but of course has no money to pay this extra cost in her life.
Update (1/14/14): We learned today that we are now past the scare of returning cancer and she is still cancer free! This is a huge blessing and we are so grateful! However She will still need surgery to cut out the problem areas that are causing her pain, which are mostly related to her last bought with cancer and how things healed and scar tissue. She still needs her surgery, treatment and insurance so little has changed except the ever looming fear of cancer. SHE STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT!
She works as a day care provider and has given of her self her entire life, never asking for anything for her self but an honest days pay. She has three adult boys and will soon have a new husband and step daughter that love her dearly.
We are asking for donations to cover the costs of treatment, so that she may once again be healthy. Please give anything you can as every little bit helps.
