Veteran And Father needs your help

“If this campaign helps in any way, we will truly be forever grateful and our lives forever changed. I know there are many people struggling in this world and for me, a person who has never asked or used the "Veteran" card before, to believe and try to convince you that I am the one you need to help at this point in time means things for us have bottomed out and there is nowhere else for us to turn. Please consider helping us?” Brian

Hi, this is Kathy, Brian and I had a beautiful son 31 years ago, Nate Brady. He is and always will be the love of our lives. Nate started this gofundme for his Dad, sadly Nate passed away 3 months ago, before he could see if his efforts to help his Dad worked. It meant a lot to him so I am taking over to do anything I can and I am hoping you can help his Father in any way you can.

Brian Brady is an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and has been dealing with Multiple Myeloma (blood cancer) for 6 years.  In these 6 years the myeloma was controlled with standard chemotherapy. Now it has returned and progressed to the point a stem-cell transplant (bone marrow) will be needed. This procedure in itself will take approximately 11 weeks (3 weeks for stem-cell harvest, 2 weeks back home and a return visit of 6 weeks for the transplant) and will be performed at the Veterans Medical Center in Nashville, TN. There will be no cost to us for the procedure itself as the Dept. of Veterans Affairs will be taking care of that cost. Recovery takes on average 3 months.

What he needs help with is the other expenses in life and trip incidentals. Since he will not be able to work for at a minimum, 6 months, he needs help in covering household expenses. Without financial help, this is impossible to obtain.

His situation has progressed to the point where the stem-cell procedure needs to be done or he will end up in a wheelchair or worse!

The VA doctors wish to do the stem-cell transplant now because his chemo combo of Velcade and Revlimed aren't getting the results they once did. His body has started rejecting the Revlimed in the form of a complete upper body rash and it is a terrible feeling. Brian is off the Revlimed and has had 3 double unit infusions of blood since December to help his blood counts. He has internal bleeding (and for a cancer patient, this is not good). I could go on, but I think you get it - it's time for the transplant.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read our request, hopefully we get to hear from you soon.
