Hi Everyone!
I'm happy to announce that I received my first veterinary school acceptance (Michigan State University)! While I am still awaiting word from the remainder of the schools I applied to, I wanted to start the long journey to fund the next chapter of my education. As you may not know, veterinary students typically graduate with anywhere between $100,000-$300,000 of debt (yikes!), which of course depends on which school they attended, their financial background (e.g. undergraduate loans), help from mom and dad, etc. It may also shock you that vet school graduates' starting salaries is only about $45K. If you ask any veterinarian why they chose this career, his/her #1 answer is probably NOT for the money. It's ensuring animal (and human!) health . As I start this exciting adventure, I appreciate any help I can get!
