Help Susan Walk Again!!

Donation protected
Last May my mother, Susan, had gone for surgery on her right leg, due to her having peripheral vascular disease. Peripheral vascular disease is where the veins in your legs become clogged, requiring surgery in order to unclog them so blood can flow through. My mother has been a long time smoker, which contributed to the development of her peripheral vascular disease, however it was not the sole cause. She went to see THE ONLY vascular surgeon who was available in the Greater Lowell Area, and although he did advise her to quit smoking, he never expressed any imminent threat of her losing a limb. In fact he quite clearly stated that "fixing" her right leg "would be a piece of cake" compared to the left leg, which he had done prior to the right leg. After going in for the initial procedure, my mother was brought BACK into the O.R. two times, unbeknownst to us. It all of a sudden turned into a necessity that they amputate "part" of her foot, then "all of her foot", then "below the knee", and then she came out of surgery with an above the knee amputation." All the while she was incapable of being a part of any decision due to the amount of pain medication that she was on. All the while we were kept in the dark enough to think that we could trust the opinion and the say so of the doctor/surgeon in charge.
My mother quit smoking after coming out of this whole event with almost no memory of what occurred. Since then she has struggled with remaining a non-smoker and is currently completely devoted to remaining determined and motivated to maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle for not only her family, but herself. The support of all her friends and family would be immensely helpful in her pursuit of beating the odds, coming out on top, and being a better person despite her struggles. She is already kicking ass and taking names, but everyone could use an extra push once in a while.
Insurance covers hardly any of the expenses that our family has incurred. This includes a ramp (which insurance did not cover any of),a prosthetic leg, and physical therapy appointments which will help my mom be able to walk again and gain some sort of normalcy in her life. It is very hard for me to make this page knowing that I'm asking all of you to donate your time, effort, and hard earned money into something that you really shouldn't have to think twice about. However, we are struggling with all of the weekly appointments, medical expenses, and fighting with the insurance company. We would greatly appreciate any amount of support, love, and care that anyone could afford us in this difficult time.
