Filipino UGraders for Yolanda Relief

Donation protected
More than 5,000 Filipinos have died after super typhoon Haiyan or 'Yolanda' struck the Philippines on November 8, 2013. The death toll grows higher with each passing day. Some 600,000 are also displaced and homeless. Many of them sleep in makeshift dwellings on the streets despite the stench from those who remain to be unburied.

The situation is miserable. Relief is slow to come. The Philippines needs your help.

We, the Filipino alumni of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program of the US Department of State, are knocking at your kind hearts to extend whatever amount to the victims of the typhoon.

We are hoping that with our growing networks abroad, we can enlist more people to support our cause. Although so many individuals from all corners of the globe have already helped, it is our advocacy to ensure the sustainability of assistance that can be given to the survivors "” enough for them to stand on their own feet again. Considering the degree of damage in so many parts of Visayas, one year may not be enough to rehabilitate the lives of those who are deeply shaken by the tragedy.

As of the moment, the donations will be used to buy the immediate needs of the survivors: food, water, and medicine. At least 50,000 food packs are needed every other day. Each pack should cost around $5 at least.

No amount is ever too small. We are many. We are united. We will help the survivors reclaim their right to life.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1. Donate.
2. Share to your friends!
