The Mika Wish Foundation

Before you read about Mika, we want you all to know that we are fully aware that there are many other charities and people in need, that could benefit more from your donation. People around the world who are starving or dying, or fighting for survival after a catastropic typhoon claimed 10,000 people. In the past, we have donated to such causes, doing what we could to help. It was never much, but it is what we had. If we had the kind of money needed for Mika's surgery, we wouldn't be reaching out, but we don't. Mika is more precious to us than words can describe, she is family. Mika is a 2 year old Husky/Chocolate Lab mix. She was diagnosed recently with hip dysplasia in both of her hips and more seriously a cruciated knee ( a detached ligament inside the knee which normally provides a cushion between the bones ) due to an injury sustained over a year ago. She is experiencing a lot of pain on a daily basis, she is unable to put any weight on this leg in turn she is not getting any exercise which will eventually cause her to gain weight and be even harder for her to manage her pain, which is very hard to watch her go through knowing we can't help her at this time as it costs $3500 just for the surgery, $150 every 2 months to manage her pain and $200 to get her to a specialist to begin the process to help her become pain free and enable her to lead a happy life. She is a sweet, gentle, loving member of our family. Were she a much older dog having already experienced a fulfilling life we might not be in this predicament. We feel like, she deserves a bright and happy pain free life. Any help in contributing to getting her the help she needs would be so much appreciated.
