Relocation Expenses for Dream Job!

Relocating for job in Indian Country!
December 2012 I graduated Elizabeth City State University with two bachelor degrees: Bachelor of Art in Mass Communications and a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art. It was a wonderful and sad day since neither of my parents were there to see it.

From August 1990 to December 1992 I attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Everything was set to continue my bachelor's degree in Nevada, but I cancelled my transfer and returned home to help my mother financially.
In September 1993 my mother, Eleanor, was diagnosed with Leukemia. After weeks of treatment with no improvement, further tests found she was already in the "acute blast" or final stage of the disease. With all the financial problems I never made it back to college. Mama lost her fight with Leukemia in June 1994.

I began to experience severe back problems, discovering in 1996 that my original back surgery had gone bad (two of the rods had slipped). In July 1997 I had a second (15 hours!) back surgery at Duke University Hospital, followed by two years of healing and reduced work productivity.
In 1999 my father Marcello returned to the US to live with me. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2007 and I cared for him until he began falling and I was unable to lift him. He entered the local nursing home and stabilized. After losing a job and being unable to find work, I returned to college after a 17 year hiatus in August 2009. Papa lost his battle with Alzheimer's in 2010.

After nine months of looking, I've finally found a job using my education and skills working with Native Americans. I'll be working for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and heading to Colorado and the Ute Mountain reservation.
Unfortunately the government is not offering relocation funds for this job. For the past two years I have only been working part time (all I could find) and do not have a savings account. Family is helping but it's a big expense. There's renting a truck, gas, hotels (should take 4 days drive time), deposits for housing, electric and gas, and airfare to return my friend Tom (who's helping me drive) home.
So I'm raising relocation funds by asking friends, family and big hearted strangers for some donations. Every gift helps, no matter how big or small, and gets a new (somewhat older) college grad out in their field, helping others.

This is a great job, in a fascinating place. I can't wait to get there. I'm looking forward to all the new challenges and inspiration this change will bring. I hope to make a difference. Can you help me help?
