Turks and Caicos School Supply Fund

In June, I had the chance to participate in a Sandals Foundation Reading Road Trip, where my fellow Beaches Teen Advisory Panel members and I read to a first grade class at a school on the island of Turks & Caicos. At the end of my visit I gave them the books that I had read. I have never seen children so happy to receive a gift that seemed so little to me. 

The funds I raise will go towards giving 100 kids much needed school supplies, first aid equipment, and recess material. The money raised will also cover shipping costs to get the supplies to the school. I will present the supplies to the school in October during this year’s Social Media on the Sand conference being held at Beaches Turks & Caicos. 

The funds raised will go towards giving 5 classes, of 20 students, class room kits. Here is what is given in each kit:
1. 60 pieces of chalk
2. 500 pieces of colored construction paper
3. 240 colored pencils
4. 120 crayons
5. Dry erase markers and white board eraser
6. 20 pencil erasers
7. 20 pencil sharpeners
8. 200 markers
9. 60 pencils
10. 60 pens
11. 20 rulers
12. 20 solar calculators
13. 20 flash drives
14. 1 Frisbee
15. 1 inflation pump
16. 1 basket ball
17. 1 soccer ball
18. 36 tennis balls
19. 144 antibiotic packets
20. 280 band aids
