From Aimee:
just a big ol ball of emotions today.... feeling a little better but still feeling kinda bad and feeling guilty that I don't feel better than I do...and worrying about the scan in two weeks...want to be cancer free soooo bad. :(

1/26/2014
I have been trying to wait for "good" news... But it has really been slow going. Wednesday will be 8 weeks since treatment ended and we had really hoped that the healing would be near done by now.
But it isn't. not close. Still lots of pain... which effects Aimee's ability to chew and eat. She is HUNGRY.
We still have appointments and Meds.
Thank You for thinking of us and please continue to Pray.
Randall

12/23/13 : Well, Fridays appointment was cancelled due to weather. Today's (Monday) Blood work was MUCH BETTER than last Wednesday. Everything is still day to day... But she did some light whispering today. Also ate a little bit of applesauce and some Chicken broth. #Blessed

12/18/2013 From Aimee:
Recap and update:
Passed out in the shower twice. Went to oncologist appointment. Got labs and IV fluids. Labs came back surprisingly icky. Blood sugar was 552. White blood cell count was 23 (11 is normal) red platelets and potassium also high. I have an appointment with my ENT DR. On Friday. Back to onocologist on Monday to get more labs. Hopefully ...is the best word I can come up with.... It's just from being severely dehydrated. Pressing on! One day at a time! Kicking cancers ass! Thanks for your love and prayers.

12/17/2013... Appt. with the Radiology Oncologist tomorrow morning. Will make announcement after the Appointment. Praying for a "good" update... ~~~Randall

Aimee had a bit of broth yesterday... and I hope to get some in her today also. she is producing a little bit of blood. I hope that it is the throat healing and shedding some of the bad! She said she feels like it is getting better!!! slow road... but she is on the way!

:(
throat is not doing well.
Randall

Still going pretty rough. Aimee is coughing all the time. Her throat and wind pipe are burnt from the radiation. Please Pray for her!

7 weeks/30 days radiation therapy DONE! Take that! The hard part is over...now we pray for quick healing healing healing. This girl is hungry and she wants to eat!

Follow up appointment in two weeks. For now I rest and recuperate.

Thank you so much everyone for your love and support. I honestly could not have done this without all of you awesome people cheering me on. It was hard. Harder than I ever thought. But #effcancer I'm #inittowinit #kickincancersass #blessed

Last Treatment tomorrow! So proud of Aimee! there were times I didn't think we would get to this point. #AmazingWoman #EFFcancer

Aimee made it to Martin's and watched us eat a wonderful Thanksgiving meal (Thank you Tina!). We are truly blessed. I thank GOD that he has allowed me to be with this woman. Only 3 treatments left. #InItToWinIt #EFFcancer

I know Aimee isn't going to be fond of this... But I think people should have a better understanding of what is going on. I had another hassle with the picture people. I had to black out the flaking skin and the open sores. Please SHARE. ~~~busta-randall

11/22/2013: Week 4.9 in the books. 6 more days. MTW then 4 days off for thanksgiving... then MTW and She is done. yesterday was the best day in a couple weeks (first full day on 50mg fentanyl). But today was not as nice :( still have the struggles with her mouth, blisters and skin peeling, and the burns on her outer neck. She said tonight the her throat was very swollen. I think it is a combination between the blisters and the constant coughing. She got to nap a bit in my arms today. I Love this Woman. #blessed

Small update. She switched to the 50mg fentanyl patch today and it should definitely help with the pain. Her mouth sores are pretty bad with oozing and skin peeling from the roof of her mouth. They ARE switching the schedule around to be closed for thanksgiving. So we will find out the LAST DAY OF TREATMENT... for sure this Friday ~~~busta-randall

GOOD NEWS: the cancer center machines are down for an air filter issue. SO, Aimee gets 3days off in a row!
BAD NEWS: this means her last treatment will be pushed into December (2nd), which means and extra $575 financial burden.
Regardless I am glad she gets this extra rest now.
PLEASE SHARE THIS PAGE we are still in need. Thank you All. #Blessed #InItToWinIt

11/16/2013:
Aimee's update; I have to cough and hack all night long and get no sleep. But if I nap during the day its a lot less worse. Last night was probably THE worst night I've had so far. And then I slept off and on all day. I'm exhausted. I feel like a real life cancer patient. Hmmm guess I am human? But almost done. 2 more weeks we can do this!<3

She is a trooper. her cough is so rough and she hacks all kinds of fluid. I am worried about her fluid intake... Aimee's Skin has turned a dark red/purple. on Thursday the Oncology radiologist adjusted the radiation treatment plan to radiate below the upper lip. We hope this will provide a bit of relief. her pain meds were upped. and will be upped again Monday or Tuesday. Please SHARE! We Love You all~~~randall

Aimee's update 11/11/13:
forcing myself to eat a chocolate shake...not a place I'd ever thought I'd be. Irony, you are not funny.
and to balance the *bitchandmoan*....

thank you to Emily Sunshine for Tuesday drives...for my awesome Hubby Busta-Randall Huffman for being such a great helper/taker overer of household and kidstuffs....and Starlette Twining for Downton Abbey watching.

From my end: they greatly upped the pain meds and we hope that this will allow her to eat more (lost some pounds). Aimee is struggling and could really use YOUR encouragement!!! She cannot talk so please message her on FB or send texts! Tons of things going on... Medicaid denied her last 2 prescriptions and this fund helped pay for them (instead of waiting WHO knows how long). the battery in the back up car died and is currently on the charger AGAIN.... also, the Check Engine Light came on in the main vehicle tonight (probably oxygen sensor or something similar). drives ok so I will try to get it checked after tomorrows treatment. PRAYERS PRAYERS PRAYERS Please!
ZERO site visits on Sunday... and only 3 on Monday. yes it was a holiday. But if you want to help please SHARE the site. Thank you ALL!~~~Randall

From Aimee last night 11/2/13:
Lest anyone think I'm only strong and brave and faith filled .... My mouth hurts. It hurts bad. I can barely talk or eat or spit up the Nasty thick mucus in my mouth. Week 2 did me in and there are 4 left. I need prayers. I get up in pain..I try to manage my pain and I go to bed in pain. I know this is a battle I win...but it's still a battle in the meantime. Thank you for letting me be real. And thank you for praying. #effcancer #notasBAasithoughtiwas #stillinittowinit. "” feeling ow.

Aimee's mouth is getting worse everyday :( we are going to have to do more and more to help her symptoms. I don't think she will be talking by the end of next week. Please continue to pray for her. And SHARE, ty ~~~randall

Update, today Tue 10/29, was treatment #7 of, as now planned, 30 treatments. Aimee's mouth really started to bother her today. She said it was like she had a 9volt battery in her mouth. All over, tingling and shocking. She also showed some skin irritation for the first time today.

I wanted to let everyone know that these funds are needed and greatly appreciated. With the salivary glands removed she is battling dry mouth all day! The mouth rinse she uses is some kind of special and not covered by medicaid. Also we would have to make some very tough decisions in our budget (it is already thinned) if this money wasnt here for her other medications also. As most of you know Aimee is super duper awesome and i love her so much! Again, We ask that you please SHARE SHARE SHARE < 3 randall

Update: 10/19/2013

I kind of flooded you last weekend because of just starting the page up so I took it easy for the last 5 days.
We ended up driving about 650 miles this week just for appointments. We still had a bunch of dental for Aimee to finish up and the Radiation practice went well.
The Radiation treatments start Monday morning and if all goes well will finish up just after Thanksgiving. Our spirits are high and the children are taking it well too.
Thank you all for sticking with us :)

Cancer Update
October 9, 2013 at 12:15am
Some of this might be recapt but this is the update at this time: I saw the original oncologist today and he said they hoped they could get it all out with surgery but my tumor kind of turned into a dandelion and spread out seeds throughout my neck tissue. Typically it would have sought out the lymph nodes but fortunately it decided to be weird.(who me, weird?) They thought I would have to do chemo but my PET scan showed very little visible cancer so they are confident that the radiation will kill the rest of it. A lot of people think that Radiation is no big deal, and believe me I AM grateful I don't have to do chemo, but neck radiation basically changes everything about my mouth health...short term I will have burns and sores in my throat and mouth and I may have trouble eating, speaking, swallowing or opening my mouth. Long term it weakens the bone so I can have NO extractions ever ever again or I may get bone infection and bone death which is super bad. So I have to have four healthy teeth pulled before I can start treatment because they are wiggly (I'm a jaw clencher). :S Also it kills the saliva glands so I will have chronic dry mouth..which I already have somewhat due to my first two surgeries...and I have to go to the dentist every 3 months for cleanings and check ups for the rest of my life. Aside from that typical side effects are fatigue, nausea, muscle fatigue/pain, joint pain, my skin may turn red on the outside of my neck, and or dry and flake. So yeah, it's the better end of the stick but it still kinda sucks lol. I go to the dentist tomorrow to replace some old fillings, then meet with the oral surgeon to get the 4 teeth pulled ASAP...I start radiation on the 21st. I will lie on a table like a cat scan machine, with a plastic mesh mask over my face and my head is basically screwed down so that there is no movement. An "arm" will orbit my neck shooting out radiation for 10-20 minutes (not sure my dosage time yet) Monday thru Friday...last day is November 29th. Ever grateful for your encouragement, and prayers!
