Help a Veteran Stay in School

Hey Internet, I'm a full time student enrolled at Salt Lake Community College working towards an electrical engineering degree. In theory, this was to be paid for using the G.I. Bill benefits promised me by Uncle Sam. The semester started in August and not only has my school not received my tuition yet, but I have not received my housing and book stipends either. Whether this is bureaucratic fall out from the government shutdown or just normal for the G.I. Bill, I don't know. What I do know is that I could really use your help until government gets around to paying what they promised.


I joined the Army in 2004 and served as a satellite network controller with the 1st Space Brigade, 53rd Signal Battalion for seven years. After receiving an honorable discharge, I went to work training 1st Space Brigade soldiers in Colorado Springs, CO for 18 months. As my contract neared completion I thought it would be best if I put all my military training to good use by pursuing an engineering degree and came home to Salt Lake City, UT to be a full time student.
