My name is Jared (JD) Meyers. I am currently in the process of donating my Kidney to one of my best friends in the world Ben Nabors. This has been a very long process and it is finally happening in one week on October 18th 2013. At my pre op appointment I found out that I will not be able to receive any type of reimbursement for my lost wages OR my caretakers lost wages while I go though my lengthy recovery process.
Ben means the world to me and I would do anything for him! I have been there and helped him through rougher times then I would wish on my worst enemy and I am not ok with that continuing! I am and will do whatever I can to make this work but right now I am unable to afford taking time off as my benefits (Paid time off/Sick/Vacation days) do not start until I will almost be back from recovery and so it is possible I would need to postpone this life altering Surgery 5.5-6 months when I have had time to save up some money to front the thousands of dollars in lost wages and expenses.
This is NOT something I have ever done in the past and hope I will never need to again but I need financial help to save my friend from the pain and suffering he is going through!!!
