Cancer Treatment Fund

On Sept. 6, 2013 my mom was told she has a cancerous tumor in her rectum after a colonoscopy. On the 7th she was in the bathroom in horrible pain, only to find a small clip was left in her intestinal tract. On Sept. 10, 2013 she had a pelvis/abdominal CT to make sure there was no other tumors. That came back clear! Sept. 14th she goes to the ER with horrible pain, they say she has a bladder infection. On Sept 18, 2013 she was admitted into the hospital with a severe infection. She was sent to surgery to drain the infection that evening. While cleaning out the infection, they found a small tear near the tumor and that was fixed. She spent 6 days in the hospital on 2 different IV antibiotics. On Sept. 24th she was sent home with oral antibiotics and numbers to call. Because she has been unemployed, she has no insurance, because she knew her contract job was not permanent she has saved some money and now being penalized for doing so. She does not qualify for medical assistance. She tried MD Anderson, but made too much money LAST year to qualify! Her medical bills are now coming in and she has not even started the Chemo and Radiation the doctor says she needs.
