Help Buy A New Car For Cancer Patient

My mother has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer; she has a spot on her lungs, and we don't know where else yet. Stage 4 has a 6-10% survival rate, but we are very hopeful!
First a little about her, she is only in her 50's (she would kill me if I stated her age). She is a volunteer EMT/Paramedic. She has been working as town clerk for several years in my small hometown. She loves gardening, even though she can not do much anymore. Unfortunately, cancer seems to have a hold on my family as we recently lost my grandmother to lung cancer.
Naturally, Mom has made frequent visits to the hospital for tests and soon for treatment. Her old van has issues and problems (on its 3rd transmission) with winter on the way and more and more frequent trips to the hospital in the future. My family is not rich by any stretch, but we are doing what we can. My brother recently got a new full time job after being only part time for a while. He still lives at home and helps Mom a lot. My wife and I help out where we can, however times are tough for everyone.
With winter being what it is in New Hampshire, we want to get her a new car and have no means of doing so. We are looking to get her a new Subaru. An Outback would probably be the best choice.
Twenty-five to thirty thousand dollars would give Mom the new car she has never had. It would give us peace of mind when her hours on the road increase, knowing she has a reliable vehicle.
