Save Military Widow's Home

Donation protected
One of our goals at Admiralty Real Estate is to help save homeowners from foreclosure. As a retired military veteran with strong military roots, this story hits home in more ways than one.
And the story begins, just imagine:
• 28 year Air Force Master Sergeant retired in 1971
• 4 decades he paid into the Survivor Benefits Plan (SBP) to take care of his beloved wife after his passing
• December 2014 he passes away with the peace of mind that his wife will be receiving the SBP
• Several months pass with lots of status inquiries and no results
• June 2015, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) denies her benefits based on errors in her husband’s military record
• August 2015, the Bank files Lis Pendence and begins foreclosure
• October 2015, an Application for Correction of Military Record was filed with an 18 month expected wait before this application is reviewed.

It is hard to imagine that Maggie, a military widow, has been denied her Survivor Benefit Annuity payment due to a technicality and is now in jeopardy of losing her home after the death of her husband.

Please join together and help us raise money to save Maggie's home from foreclosure.

Her husband Joseph served for 28 years and retired in 1971. For over 4 decades, Joseph has paid into a Survivors Benefit Plan (annuity) which would give Maggie part of his retirement pay and allow her to remain in the home they purchased together.

Over several months, many people and organizations have tried to help Maggie correct this wrong. Everyone who has touched this case has made some progress, but time is not on our side. At this time the DoD has received a request to correct the form, but DFAS cannot release the annuity payment until the correction is made. Unfortunately, the expected time before this case can be reviewed is 18 months.

We are certain that if the DoD grants her the monthly annuity payments, she will be able to maintain the mortgage payments and live in the home as her late husband intended.

These funds are needed immediately to stop the foreclosure and will be used to bring the mortgage current and help maintain her mortgage until the DoD reviews the case.

We are extremely grateful for anything you can do and are anxiously anticipating the day that this goal is met to save Maggie’s home from foreclosure.

This time of year is exceptionally hard on Maggie as this is the first year without her beloved husband. Please help bring some joy into this widow’s life by assisting with this heavy burden.
