Help Me Conduct The Cadets2 in 2015

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Armon Raygani and I am marching my third season of drum corps with the Cadets2 in the 2015 season, serving as a drum major.

I am a 19 year old college student and this summer I am participating in the Drum Corps Associates summer tour for the third season in a row. I have been fortunate enough to have been selected to serve as a drum major for The Cadets2 in its fourth year of existence, and am looking forward to this fantastic experience. I currently study music education with a concentration in voice at Towson University, where I also serve as drum major for the marching band.

What is Drum Corps?

Drum Corps Associates is a competitive marching circuit for all-age drum and bugle corps all across the nation. Drum Corps are much like marching bands, but exclude woodwinds and are much stricter in terms of commitment and ability. When the summer hits, we rehearse Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, while performing in a new city or state every week. I will be participating in 14 hour rehearsal days, sleeping on gym floors, showering with dozens of my peers, and working in the hot sun to be as close to perfect as I can be. We push ourselves to be perfect by playing the same music and marching the same drill over and over again for our twelve minute show. Our show becomes a part of us, and becomes our life for months at a time, and we build huge friendships and have amazing experiences along the way.

Why would anyone do this?

Drum Corps has already taught me a lot about responsibility, accountability, time management, how to appreciate certain things, how to be perfect, and just in general how to expect excellence in everything I do and how to be a better person. I have met some truly phenomenal friends and my musicianship and musical ability have skyrocketed since my first camp in January 2013. Drum Corps makes no sense on the surface, but deep down it provides an unforgettable and enriching experience for young and old people alike. Some of my current best friends are from the activity, and they live all across the country.

Why Donate?

You aren't just donating to help me march, you're donating to help me live a dream. This is something not everyone can experience or will experience in their lifetime. This is something truly unique. Even the smallest amount will help me. I'm a college student and my financial situation isn't amazing but I'm doing what I can to get by and make this happen.

Whatever proceeds are left from this fundraiser after my fees are paid off, I will donate to other fellow marchers in poor financial situations.

Thank you, and have a wonderful day.
