Clothes and Support for Homeless Teen
Donation protected
I'm working with a homeless young adult who has been admitted to an in-patient psychiatric clinic for severe depression as well as some other issues. I was very happy to learn this morning that his UA came back completely clean "“ no trace of any drug in his system. This is a huge accomplishment for this young man.
Prior to being admitted, he sold some of his clothes to get money for food. The rest of his clothes were burned in a bonfire by the "friends" he was staying with before they kicked him out.
I visited him last night and will be going back every evening. One of the young men who lives with me gave me three shirts and a pair of jeans to give him. I bought a package of underwear. If any of you have t-shirts or hoodies (medium) or jeans (30 or 32) that are in good condition, that would be really helpful. If you would rather make a donation, please use our PayPal site on our website or GoFund Me.
A special thank you is owed to the police officers and dispatch workers who worked with me to locate and check on this young man and then take him to the emergency room after determining that he was not safe. It was a process that totaled ten hours from start to finish "“ they never said "Call back when you know exactly where he is" "“ but rather went out looking for him and graciously received my phone calls when I had new information. I am really grateful for the way our police department has treated me and the kids I work with this past summer and fall!
