Trip to the At-Home Dads Convention
I am a stay-at-home caregiver (mostly). I take care of my two energy filled boys. My mother who had a stroke almost 2 years ago stays with us so that she doesn't have to go to a nursing home.
I do work two days a week, but I am the primary caregiver for my family. I cook, clean, fix, clean, mow, clean, paint, clean and love my family. I also am an amature blogger at Adventures In Daddyhood.
In Raleigh, NC on September 26th and 27th the National At-Home Dad Network is having their 20th convention and I would love to be able to attend for the first time. You see, living in a rural area I do not know any other stay-at-home dads. I would love to have the opportunity to meet with, learn from, and share with other great dads!
However, as a single income family taking care of three generations in one house, funds are extremely limited. My wife and I had managed to make a big dent in our debt this year and even managed to save some money for a small get-away for our tenth anniversary in June. Recently, though, I noticed a large crack in the bottom of one of our bathtubs. Now, after meeting with several people, we have decided the best thing to do is a full removal and replacement of our tub. Needless to say, our debt will be returning in a new form and our savings gone, along with any thought of the trip to meet other great dads and learning how I can be a better dad.
Please help me get to this great convention. I could use all the help I could get. I have also applied for their great Scholarship to help with the cost of going. Hopefully I will get that as well. Fingers crossed!
If I meet my goal and have extra money after the trip I will donate the remaining funds to the scholarship fund so that more dads can go to the convention next year.
