Mary Jane on the Mend

Donation protected
My daughter Mary Jane found the man of her dreams when she turned 30. She and Jeremy dated for 2 years and decided it was a match made in heaven. They made plans for a wedding while Jeremy sought the blessings of both sets of parents. He wanted the proposal to be special so he spent a lot of time and effort on it.

On a Saturday night he popped the question with a secret setting, music, and slide show. Then they went to a restaurant where 30 friends and family members joined to celebrate the engagement.

The very next day, tragedy struck and put a damper on the excitement. As Mary Jane was taking her younger brother to cut his hair, she turned to warn him to watch his step; and she tripped and broke her ankle.

Little brother took her to the emergency room where they determined she had broken her tibia and fibula. The doctor performed emergency surgery and put screws and a plate in the bones. The wedding was 6 weeks away, and the doctor told her not to do anything for the next 6 weeks.

Mary Jane is a hair stylist and part time photographer. She faces the misfortune of six weeks of no income, impending medical bills, and the possibility of not healing in time for the wedding.

While in the hospital she desperately worked to make sure all of her clients were taken care of by fellow cosmetologists, and contacted another photographer to cover the 5 weddings she was scheduled to shoot. She told us she is not accustomed to asking others for help, she always pays her own way. I told her that she has sown goodness into other people's lives so it is OK for people to give some goodness back.

Today Mary Jane came home with us and we are helping her in her rehabilitation. You can help her with her medical bills, or you can help her with her wedding, or you can help her with her day to day living expenses. You choose, but read her blog today: http://justjane143.blogspot.com/2013/09/mr-sims.html

She didn't want to put this up, but as her dad I asked her if I could help do it. I heard about GoFundMe on Kim Komando's radio show http://www.komando.com/columns/index.aspx?id=13516 and thought this could be a blessing for Mary Jane. God bless you as you consider helping Mary Jane and Jeremy as they work through the healing and the planning and their new life together.
