The METI Project is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote sustainability in healthcare through medical education, training, and improved infrastructure in under-served areas of the world. Launched in 2013 by Professional Ambulance (Pro EMS) and Pro EMS Center for MEDICS, The METI Project's first initiative addresses critical medical needs in Haiti, one of the world's poorest countries.
With 5 years of service in the EMS community in Massachusetts I am excited for the opportunity to travel and experience not only the culture, but share some of my knowledge. The ability to not only go and work with the staff at the hospitals, but also work hand in hand in teaching valuable medical skills is something that not only will help the community there, but also further my education. As a Paramedic student and an seasoned provider opportunities like this can help further a career and help exponentially with life experience. Team 5 travels down to Haiti in December, continuing where the others have left off. We are all excited to have the opportunity and make a difference in every way that we can.Thank you for taking time to view my page and consider helping me fund and reach my goal of traveling this fall.
