Dad's Funeral

Donation protected
As of most of you know, my dad has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer and is at the final stages of his life with just a few days to a week or two left. I took him to the ER the weekend after 4th of July, they thought it was a liver infection but everything has been escalating so quickly and it's been a hell of a rollercoaster ride ever since. This case is very shocking to the doctors because my dad doesn't drink, smoke, or have Hep B. This mass has been growing at such a rapid rate, it went from 14cm to 20cm in 3 weeks with no main causes. I am the only child and my mom also passed from cancer, years ago, so I have been the only one by my dads side throughout all of this. I am the most drained and sleep deprived I've ever been in my 27 years of existence. We spent the last 11 days in the hospital but my dad wanted to come home so I set up Hospice (end of life comfort care) at home. I am so glad that he's happy to be home and tells me he is so much more comfortable here than the hospital and that's really all I need to hear (he said I do a better job than 2-3 nurses combined hehe) The nurse only comes twice a week for 30 mins each time and also a bathing nurse twice a week, other than that, I am literally the only person taking care of my pops 24/7. I am the nurse now. But I've also been making it the best days it can be and how it's supposed to be and he's been SUCH a great sport throughout all this. He is such a strong man it breaks my heart to see him so weak and helping him out of bed and to the bathroom.

The nurses at the hospital and the social workers have been telling me they know it's the last thing I want to do right now but I need to start looking into mortuary and funeral plans. I HATE funerals and have only been to two, my moms and one of my best friends' that passed away in 2011. I don't do funerals and now I have to plan my fathers. I'm going to be completely honest I don't have any money saved for this, my dad also doesn't. I am literally being left with nothing just a whole bunch of unfinished business and things to deal with. I've been left on my own completely to handle this and I just am so overwhelmed and stressed out to the max right now.

My dad has actually bought a plot about 15 years ago at a big cemetery called Forest Lawn. He is pretty set about being buried there. I called them today to get pricing and I was shocked how expensive funerals are... the cheapest option that includes service at this place is $7,600* and that's just a quote. I know that's a stretch, super expensive and sounds crazy but if that's what my dad wants I'm going to try everything in my power to do that for him and fulfill his final wish. That's why I turn to my friends and loved ones today for help. I am not the type to ask for money like this but I am left with no other option right now and need a helping hand in the toughest time in my life. If you could spare even a dollar or five it would mean so much to me. Thank you in advance. I've been shown an insane amount of love, support and compassion from my friends and loved ones. Without you guys I don't think I could get through this. If I don't make my goal I'm still trying to think of other options..this is all new to me so bare with me. My dad is a very religious Christian and they don't believe in cremation. He would prob come haunt me if I did it that way lol. Thank you again.

*$7,600 quote includes- picking up the dead body I will have to find, transfer, refrigerator, care & prep, gravesite, Monterey casket, driver, opening and closing of the plot, vault (outer container of casket), tablet (headstone), death certificate, & single vase. It's the cheapest option that includes service and they already took out all the other little things to make it cheap as possible for me because I explained my situation. Has to be paid in full before they do anything.
