Tristan Garcia is a 12 year old football fanatic and 6th grade student . In just 3 short years of playing, Tristan's dreams of being a top football player have skyrocketed!
I remember biting my nails as I watched him scramble around to find his position on the field during his first football game. Tristan worked so hard that at the end of that first season he received the award for Most Improved Player.
In his second season, Tristan moved up a level where the players were split into 2 teams the Patriots (beginners) and Skylands (experienced) he was discouraged because he wasn't chosen to play on the Skyland's team. I encouraged him to continue to work his hardest and 3 days after the original selections were made, he was asked to play on both teams. For the entire season he played 2 games every Saturday at 9:30 am and 5:30pm.
During his third season, Tristan was one of 6 players from his Somerville/Branchburg United Junior Varsity Team chosen to participate in The IV Star Showcase in Plymouth Meeting, PA over Thanksgiving weekend ( this was a regional showcase for student athletes with superior academics as well as athletic ability).
Based on his performance at the showcase, Tristan was 1 of 60 selected out of 30,000 players viewed to participate in The Bret Cooper Junior Academic All American Bowl in Dallas, Texas on January 2, 2016. Because this is completely unexpected and so soon after his very first showcase ever, we are asking all of our family and friends to help support TRISTAN'S RISE TO THE TOP! These opportunities don't present themselves to everyone. However, the monetary cost of this venture is very high. We are honored and humbled that Tristan has been selected to play in The Bret Cooper Junior Academic All American Bowl, but without the help of his biggest fans this will not be possible.
We acknowledge that it is very close to the holidays, so whatever you are able to donate will help Tristan to reach his goal. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support!
