Urgent Help Ugandan Conjoined Twins

Donation protected

Help us send the twins home!

It’s been 2 years since conjoined twins Apio and Acen made the big journey from Uganda to the US with their 19 year old mother. After many months of amazing care at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio, they were successfully separated in a 16 hour surgery! The following year was filled with further surgeries, hospitalizations, and therapies but they have now finally been given the all-clear to return home as healthy independent little girls!!

We are so grateful for the many people who have joined together to improve the lives of this small family and we need your help again to set them up for a successful future. The travel expenses, supplies, cloth diapers, doctors visits, vaccinations, etc. are adding up and if possible we would like to help with a few small improvements to their home for their safety and for any needed medical care upon their return.

Please keep Esther and dad James in your prayers as they readjust to being a family, and the girls that they stay healthy and continue to thrive!

------------------------------------------

In a remote vilage in Uganda, a 19 year old mother was rushed to the local clinic on the back of a motor bike in the middle of the night for an emergency c-section. To the shock everyone, she delivered baby girls who were born conjoined at the lower back. They needed emergency surgery to perform a colostomy which would save their lives and enable them to be fed.

The rural hospital was not equipped to do the surgery and the family is extremely poor. It seemed like a hopeless situation. Then, through a series of small miracles, news of the babies traveled quickly to America. People wanted to help. Through social media, we rushed to collect the funds needed to move the babies to the capital city for surgery. The money was raised quickly and at 5 days old the babies had colostomy surgery successfully performed.

Apio Jodi Grace and Acen Melissa Faith are now almost two months old. They are still living in the hospital in Uganda with their mother, but need separation surgery urgently.

At the advice of the Ugandan doctors, we are working to bring the babies to the United States for this delicate and life-changing surgery. A team of doctors and a hospital here in the U.S. will do the surgery as a donation. We are in need of funds for visa, airfare, transportation and living expenses while the mother and children are here. We need to get them out of the Ugandan hospital before Christmas and we need your help urgently!

Please help us give these precious ones the true gift of life this Christmas. Give and share this need with your family and friends. It's going to take a village to get these little ones the surgery they need. We can do it with your help. Thank you!
