A Service Dog for Ryan

Donation protected
Society seems to believe that children with autism are cured when they reach adulthood. Or perhaps society believes they don't reach adulthood. This is simply not the truth. The truth is that once a person with autism reaches adulthood, funding and help are few and far between.

Ryan T. is one of many adults across the US who has autism. She is 26 years old. For ten years, she has relied on her service dog, a white German Shepherd named Nimrodel, for independence and support. Nimrodel made it possible for Ryan to make a smooth transition into adulthood.

Nimrodel, or Nim for short, kept Ryan safe while she was out. Her superior training helped Ryan to be able to accomplish everyday tasks that come easy to most people. Without Nim, Ryan has to rely heavily on her friends and family for support.

Now Nimrodel is retired and her health is failing in her old age. Ryan is in need of a successor service dog to remain independent. A breeder and trainer, Elaine of Five Peaks German Shepherds in Colorado, has agreed to begin the rigorous training that a dog needs in order to be able to help the disabled person they are paired with. This advanced training doesn't come cheap. Please consider donating to help this wonderful woman stay active in the community and take control of her own life.
