We want to raise £97,000 to:
Create 40 new jobs accross the UK.
1. Train 40 new agents to set up their own business and work with our clients across the UK.
2. Purchase the software to organise and help each of the agents build their businesses and take on more staff.
So who are we?
The Car Wash Advisory Service is an independent,
non-government funded organisation that works across the UK, monitoring and helping wash sites that are, or want to be fully legitimate and an asset to the community in which they are based.
It may surprise you to learn that of the some 23,000 car wash sites in the UK approximately 19,000 of which are termed 'unregulated'.
This can mean anything from:
· Not having the correct drainage and thus they pollute groundwater.
· Not having public liability insurance. Only 7,000 of the 23,000 are currently registered with an insurance company.
· Not having employer’s liability insurance.
· Not paying VAT or corporation tax.
· No planning or failing to comply with conditions.
· Not paying business rates.
The list goes on and on but by far the worst offence committed by unregulated wash sites are that they are the biggest abusers of migrant and trafficked workers.
What is our aim?
Our aim is to register legitimate wash sites in the UK with the WashMark. The WashMark is a fully audited programme which helps those sites that are not fully compliant, but want to be, stand out from those that are put in place to operate for illegal purposes, such as money laundering and or support people trafficking.
The WashMark has three levels, bronze, silver, gold, with each level offering a better level of service and compliance.
Who benefits?
YOU, the consumer:
Where you see the WashMark you will be able wash your car with confidence knowing that the person washing your car has neither been trafficked to the UK or is receiving below minimum wage. You will also know that the money you pay for your car wash is not being used to support organised crime or terrorism.
Your Car:
We receive many complaints from members of the public regarding damage to brakes and paintwork from the chemicals being used, thefts from vehicles of personal belongings and sadly it is only at this time consumers find that the site has no public liability insurance.
But also:
The UK tax payer. The news is full of stories regarding public services, hospitals etc. being closed for lack of money. Unregulated wash sites are costing the UK tax payer in the region of 1 billion every year in lost revenue but despite being asked to’ get involved’ the various UK governments since 2007 have done nothing but pay ‘lip service’ to our pleas for help regulating the industry.
And lastly:
Those who live near an unregulated wash site.
We know from studies we have made that where an unregulated wash site is placed, the level of crime increases dramatically.
So what will the Agent's be doing?
After thourough training, the agents will identify wash sites within a given area, (be they mechanical or manual wash sites) and will visit them with a view to helping the site gain the WashMark. Each site will be audited by the agent and where possible will award the WashMark. The Agent will also offer other services from the Car Wash Advisory Service and its associated suppliers.
The work involves gaining the trust of the wash site and helping them in areas where they are not fully compliant, this clearly take a great deal of training and is not for the feint hearted. Agents will be taught all aspects of running a fully legitimate wash site and as they grow, will be able to take on staff of their own.
How will your money be spent?
£ 4,000 on recruiting the Agent’s.

Medium to long term plans:
· Set up a series of wash sites throughout the UK, but primarily in disadvantaged areas to help both young people and the long term unemployed learn business and interpersonal skills and help them into work.
· Set up a register for people working on wash sites throughout the UK that ensures that they are fully trained, working in the UK legally and are receiving proper rates of pay and support.

We need your help to take on new Agent’s to roll out the WashMark and create 40 new jobs and the more we raise the quicker we are put our other plans into operation.
