We can do a lot when we work together!
Kim had her thyroid removed in May and it tested positive for cancer. She has been on a very strict diet and continued treatments that included radioactive iodine therapy for the thyroid cancer to catch anything that may have been left behind or had already spread. Needless to say it has been physically and emotionally exhausting for Kim and Wayne and an additional financial stressor.
Part of the radioactive treatment included Kim not being able to have any close contact with people, including her husband and children, prepare food, work etc.
Kim has worked in Human Services for years supporting people with disabilities and currently supporting children who have survived horrible trauma. Because of the intensity of the work she does there was no light duty work available to her following her surgery so she quickly exceeded her earned time. My hope, as her friend, is that we can all come together to do and give a little to help, honor and support someone who has done so much to help so many.
Kim is a wife, mother of 3, daughter, sister, friend and more. If everyone who sees this is able to give the cost of a coffee and bagel then we can help this hard working woman who makes a difference in the lives of so many rest a little easier without the burden of more medical bills and missed wages.
Kim is my best friend and I am doing the only other thing I can think of that may help ease some of the stress.
Thank you! Tracy
