Amy Fitzsimons is a music teacher from the United States and is the newly appointed program director of Shropshire Foundation Peace Through Music Northern Ireland which was founded by Liz Shropshire . This worthwhile organisation does not receive government funding and relies on donations to thrive.
Right now its more important than ever to hold on to the tenuous bonds that been forged between the two communities in Northern Ireland and recent events might further strain them. A common denominator for all the Irish is our love for music and Amy who is a naturally gifted musician and a top class mezzo soprano is passionate about both Music and community spirit. She has fallen in love with the city and its people and has already penned several songs about the town.
I hope people will help her on her mission to permeate hate and intolerance with the gift of music. But to be able to do that, like most worthy causes in life, she needs financial assistance. So please contribute what you can and as many times as you wish in order to strengthen her efforts.
Contributions will aid in providing high quality instruments, opportunities for children to record original material, and create a beautiful musical environment. Allow her to express her love for music and community that will afford the children from both communities the courage to do the same.
